The thrust of the Golden Rule Services, Inc. day programs is skill training and related services. Each individual has training goals specific to his/her needs. Each day has social activities which help build self esteem. Classroom activities help increase academic skills and maintain skills that are already acquired. Arts and craft projects provide a fun activity and also gives each person a sense of worth by making something to give to brighten another person's life. Daily exercise in each location helps to provide fitness training to our consumers. Music therapy helps individuals learn about different instruments, their sounds, and how they are played.
The day program sites - Pearland and Texas City - are all busy each day of the week, with people working on individual goals, learning to work together and continually building memories.
Transportation is provided for those who have jobs to and from their place of employment. Some employment sites include Deke Slayton Cancer Center in Webster, Wal-Mart in League City, Randall's in Galveston.
